Commenting, Alp Mehmet, Chairman of Migration Watch UK, said:
The High Court decision that the Rwanda scheme “does not breach the UN’s Refugee Convention or human rights laws” is very welcome. The government should move quickly to restart the process of removing those with no right to be here, and who made their way to the UK illegally, to the safe country of Rwanda. Activist lawyers and the European Court for Human Rights cannot now be allowed to get away with thwarting the will of the British public, who want illegal crossings to stop.
