Below is the text of an open letter sent to both Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak, highlighting the support for reducing overall immigration among the British public-as revealed by our recent polling data.
The Right Hon Elizabeth Truss MP
The Right Hon Rishi Sunak MP
26 July 2022
Dear Ms Truss/Mr Sunak
Migration Watch UK has today published a remarkable poll on what the public really feel about the massive, uncontrolled immigration that continues unchecked.
The poll found that 60% of the public wish to see the number of immigrants coming to the UK reduced (34% by a lot). On immigration policy, those who intend to vote Conservative had very clear views. About 40% wanted a substantial reduction in net migration, 19% wanted a target of tens of thousands, while 18% wanted a commitment to stop all immigration to the UK – a total of 77%.
Would you please tell the public, and in particular those who are now considering which candidate to vote for, that you will commit to a substantial reduction in net migration?
Yours sincerely
Alp Mehmet
Chairman, Migration Watch UK
