Tens of thousands of asylum seekers will be sent from the UK to Rwanda on a one-way ticket under a package of measures to curb illegal migration.

Boris Johnson pledged today to end the small boat crisis in the Channel with the first migrants expected to receive formal notice within weeks that they will be sent to Africa. The first flights will take off in the “coming months”, it is understood.
