The Daily Telegraph has highlighted leaked Cabinet Papers which reportedly include plans for the introduction of an 11-month visa for low-skilled workers to come to the UK.
Commenting, Lord Green of Deddington, Chairman of Migration Watch UK, said:
This is a terrible proposal which amounts to cooking the books on immigration numbers. It could lead to a massive inflow of foreign workers from all over the world. So many are likely to stay on illegally that it would be impossible to remove them.
