Albanians who abuse Britain’s anti-slavery laws to avoid deportation could be returned and have their claims heard in their home country as part of a new deal between the two nations.

Illegal migrants from Albania could also be removed back to their home country before appeals against rejected asylum claims are heard.

The plans are expected to be part of a new fast-track returns agreement that moved a step closer last night after Rishi Sunak spoke to Edi Rama, the Albanian prime minister, yesterday.
